Since patenting our first pad printing machine in 1971, TAMPOPRINT ® has installed well over 100,000 pad printing machines worldwide. The quality, durability and accuracy of TAMPOPRINT ® pad printing equipment is unparalleled in the industry. When choosing a pad printing machine it is important to keep several variables in mind:
-
Image size
The maximum image size that the printer can accommodate is normally limited by the diameter of the sealed ink cup. To be safe, measure your image's largest dimension, and choose a machine with an ink cup at least 20% larger than that dimension. Also, the machine must be large enough to accommodate a pad (also at least 20% larger than the image), large enough to print a given image. Finally, the machine must be able to efficiently compress the required pad.
-
Number of colors
Some pad printers are capable of printing one color only, whereas others can print 2, 3, 4 or more colors. Keep in mind that if you want to print lighter colors over darker colored objects it might be necessary to first print white in order to obtain the desired finished color. For example, printing yellow over black = 2 colors; white first, then yellow.
-
Required throughput
How many parts per hour are required? This will help us identify whether your solution needs to be manual, semi-automatic, or fully-automatic.
-
Material to be printed.
Know this helps us identify whether your solution needs to include pre-treatment and / or post-treatment of the parts.
